Both vehicles went to the right, and the garbage truck pushed the Dodge into the stationary GMC work truck. The Dodge became wrapped around the front of the garbage truck’s bumper. As the garbage truck moved into the left lane, the truck struck the silver Dodge Dart.

The garbage truck driver did not see a silver Dodge Dart traveling in the left lane. The driver stated he saw at least one person from the flagging crew out in the lane of travel a couple of feet, which caused him to attempt a lane change into the left lane to avoid the people in the roadway. Just east of the location of the parked vehicles, a garbage truck belonging to Waste Connections was driving westbound in the right lane of NE Padden Pkwy. The flagging crew employees from the Ford F150 were out of the vehicle and beginning to set cones as part of a traffic-control plan for construction in the area. The roadway was re-opened around 08:55 hours.Ī Ford F150 and GMC heavy-duty work truck, occupied by employees of a traffic-flagging company, were parked on the shoulder in the 8700 block of NE Padden Pkwy, facing westbound. The roadway was closed for several hours.
